Welcome to Pitt in Hollywood! We are an organization formed to encourage the interaction between the entertainment industry and the university community (including Pitt, CMU, Duquesne University and Point Park College). Past PIH speakers have included producers Robert Cort (Save the Last Dance), Bernie Goldmann (Land of the Dead ), Bob Kusbit (TRL), manager Eric Gold (Jim Carrey, Vince Vaughn), actor David Conrad (Men of Honor), and many more!

GENERAL BODY MEETING

The first general body meeting will be held
in room 512 of the Cathedral of Learning
at 4:00pm on September 12, 2008.

Pitt in Hollywood, the group sponsoring the event, is a student-run organization at the University of Pittsburgh which aims to demystify how the film industry works by bringing in guest speakers and providing students with networking opportunities as well as internships and job opportunities in the industry. Former guest speakers include Pitt alumni and producer John Dellaverson (Lion’s Gate Films), writer/producer Jenji Kohan (creator of Weeds), producer Bernie Goldmann (300), Pitt alumni and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Ron Nyswaner (Philadelphia), comedian Louie Anderson (Life With Louie, Family Feud), director Rusty Cundieff (Chappelle’s Show), Michael Killen (creator of the talking chihuahua and lead digital effects artist in Blade), director Michael Pressman (Picket Fences, The Guardian), producer Robert Cort (Save the Last Dance, Emmy-winner for Something the Lord Made), and many others. Pitt In Hollywood has also helped facilitate students with internships both locally and with studios and production companies in Los Angeles and New York.
