Comedian/Comedy Writer Ed Driscoll
Ed Driscoll (comedian; writer, Academy Awards, Dennis Miller Live)
made students and faculty laugh as he taught them what it takes to be a writer
in the biz. Furthermore, he explained the meaning of ãspec scripts,ä told
stories about how he got his start, and reminisced about working with Billy Crystal.
A Pittsburgh native, Ed Driscoll began his comedy
career at local clubs and TV stations. By opening up
for stand up comedians such as Jay Leno, Steven
Wright, and Robert Klein, Driscoll soon became known
for his quick wit humor. After writing and performing
for Bostonpis Cross Comedy troupe, he moved to Los
Angeles to write for Dennis Miller Live which won him
an Emmy, a Cable Ace Award, and a Writers Guild of
America Award. Driscoll has gone on to write for
numerous TV shows, including The Drew Carey Show,
Sabrina the Teenage Witch, the 69th, 70th, 72nd, and
76th Annual Academy Awards as well as contributing to
the films Scooby Doo and Scooby Doo II. He also continues to
perform stand up comedy, his most recent show being Mismatch
Maker.
