Comedian/Comedy Writer Ed Driscoll

David Conrad

Ed Driscoll (comedian; writer, Academy Awards, Dennis Miller Live) made students and faculty laugh as he taught them what it takes to be a writer in the biz. Furthermore, he explained the meaning of ãspec scripts,ä told stories about how he got his start, and reminisced about working with Billy Crystal.

A Pittsburgh native, Ed Driscoll began his comedy career at local clubs and TV stations. By opening up for stand up comedians such as Jay Leno, Steven Wright, and Robert Klein, Driscoll soon became known for his quick wit humor. After writing and performing for Bostonpis Cross Comedy troupe, he moved to Los Angeles to write for Dennis Miller Live which won him an Emmy, a Cable Ace Award, and a Writers Guild of America Award. Driscoll has gone on to write for numerous TV shows, including The Drew Carey Show, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, the 69th, 70th, 72nd, and 76th Annual Academy Awards as well as contributing to the films Scooby Doo and Scooby Doo II. He also continues to perform stand up comedy, his most recent show being Mismatch Maker.
