Rick Sebak, a producer, director, writer and narrator of award-winning documentaries, spoke to a 175+ audience. He showed clips of his work, gave advice on producing documentaries, and quizzed the audience for DVD and poster prizes.

Sebak has created more than a dozen local programs÷known collectively as The Pittsburgh History Series÷helping to exhibit as well as strengthen the Pittsburgh community. Sebak was also recently nominated for an Emmy award for "Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming" for his PBS special FRED ROGERS: AMERICAâS FAVORITE NEIGHBOR (2004).

In 1988 Rick Sebak quick-started his career at WQED in Pittsburgh by producing and narrating, KENNYWOOD MEMORIES, an award-winning documentary about the areaâs historic amusement park. It was not long before Sebak went national: in 1990 his biographical documentary÷OUR NEIGHBOR FRED ROGERS÷about our favorite childhood television star, Mr. Rogers, was aired on PBS. Since then, Sebak has created a variety of quirky, informative, and entertaining programs that have won both local and national acclaim.
